CWMBACH ROYAL STARS - CLUB HISTORY
In 1969 a meeting was held at the Royal Oak, the outcome of which was the formation of Cwmbach Royal Stars Football Club. Present that evening were Tony Jones, Phillip Mann, Phillip Dennis, Roy Phillips and George Thomas.
With financial help from Mrs Megan Rees the club was able to purchase the necessary equipment to start the football club.
It has taken the club a long time to get promotion through the pyramid after winning the Aberdare Premier Division many times. In the 1998-99 season the club gained promotion to the South Wales Senior League Division II. That season they finished in third place in the division and gained promotion to Division I.
Over the years the club has had a number of successful junior sides between Under 10 to Under 18 level.
For the last few seasons the club's headquarters has been at the Queen Victoria pub in Cwmbach and in 2019 the club celebrated its 50th anniversary.
