Club History
Llangynwyd Rangers BGC was founded in 1947 and has produced players such as The Phillips brothers, Dai Dogs, Jacob, Robbie Thomas, Gonzo, Neil Rawles and Lee Anderson to name but a few. Stalwarts include Gaggsy, Garfield Tidball, Gwyn Howells and Gary Tidball. The club has had a mini revival in recent times and continues to go from strength to strength.
During the 2012-13 season the club beat a number of first division sides to reach the final of the W. John Owen Cup where they went down to first division champions Rhoose. Three seasons ago was another successful time for Llangywnyd as after dominating the league all season they were crowned champions finishing nine points ahead of their nearest rivals only losing once in the league throughout the season.
Recently the club was delighted to announce that they have reformed as one club again and now have the Junior, Mini and Youth teams in their ranks something which benefits all those involved and the community at large. Commenting on the decision Club Secretary Matthew Jones said 'It's exciting times for our club and we are aiming to put Llan on the map by joining as one. The aim is to develop our young players as best we can and take our Senior side to the higher levels of Welsh Football'. The club has also joined the Boys and Girls Clubs of Wales.
