The SWAL opens up the 2022-23 season on 5th August with 3 Friday night matches in the Premier Division

Canton Liberal V AFC Porth @ Leckworth Cardiff International Sports Stadium KO
Last season’s 3rd placed Canton Liberal take on AFC Porth who have come down from the Ardal SE. High ambitions again this season for both Cardiff Corinthians and Cardiff Airport who also meet on Friday evening. Both games are at Cardiff International Sports Stadium pitches at Leckwith. Pencoed Athletic BGC open with FC Cwmaman at the SDM Stadium
The Premier Division also sees newly promoted Ely Rangers V Aber Valley who, themselves, will be looking to bring their fantastic FAW Cup form from last season into the league. Also from the Ardal SE are Ton Pentre who open up their season with a local Rhondda derby Vs newly promoted Tonyrefail BGC. Whilst Bridgend St entertain Merthyr Saints and Porthcawl Town Ath play near rivals Garw SBGC in two more close games.
In Division One Aberdare Town - who hope to improve this season - face Cwm Welfare, and newly promoted Aberfan play Grange Albion. Maesteg Park play last season’s Division Two Champions Treherbert BGC whilst Trebanog - who hope to get promoted straight back to the Premier Division - play AFC Whitchurch. Canton Rangers open their season on their new 3G at Leckwith against local rivals Clwb Cymric and Vale Utd - who just missed out on promotion last season - face local rival Sully Sports in a Vale of Glamorgan derby.
Division Two starts with new-comers Penygraig United starting with a local Rhondda derby Vs Penrhiwfer and Fairwater Vs St Josephs in the Cardiff derby. The 3rd newly promoted team Tongwynlais travel to Llantwit Fardre for their first game. Cardiff Cosmos play Cogan Coronation and Nelson Cavaliers play St Albans in expect close encounters.
